Devoted and Loving Wife and Mother

Carolyn Lanier Burgstiner, age 73, died on Saturday, September 20, 2014, after a long illness. She was a member of Isle of Hope United Methodist Church. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Her greatest joy in life was being “Honey” to her two grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Oscar Lanier, Sr., (Mellie Lee), her brother, Patrick Oscar Lanier, Jr., her sister, Virginia Lanier Carter, and her brother-in-law, Robert Cupstid.

Surviving are her loving husband, F. Justin Burgstiner, Jr., a daughter, Lee Burgstiner Rambo, son-in-law, W. Ryon Rambo, Jr., her precious grandsons, Will and Ross Rambo, her sister, Beverly Lanier Cupstid of Marshall, NC, brother-in-law, Curtis Carter, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Henry and Cindy Burgstiner, and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Isle of Hope United Methodist Church.
